Camera in one hand and angle looking down… A bit longer exposure of 1/3 of the second… Wow, I was dizzy, I’ll tell you! And after looking down, I pointed camera up. Quite a different view, huh? And the very same position…Changing your angle can make a difference! Are you playing with your angle view too? Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-70mm, f/5, 1/3 sec, ISO 320 Postavil som sa na maličký kolotoč, keď som čakal detváky na ihrisku, mierne sa roztočil a zamieril fotoaparát smerom dole s trochu dlhšou uzávierkou (1/3 sekundy)… Koxo, ale sa mi roztočila hlava 😉No a hneď potom, som namieril fotoaparát zase smerom hore. Celkom odlišný pohľad, však? A pritom oba zábery boli fotené z jedného a toho istého miesta…Zmena uhlu záberu dokáže spraviť riadny rozdiel! Hráte sa aj vy s rozličnými uhlami pohľadu?

I ain’t no architecture specialist, but this was just calling to be captured! Exposure challenging situation was managed with HDR processing… BTW, Under the bridge is my RHCHP’s very favorite one. And what do you think, which one is better? Yellow/color one, or Black and white version? Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-70mm, f/11 Nepovažujem sa za odborníka na fotenie architektúry, ale tento most si o to priam koledoval! Expozične náročná situácia bola vyriešená za pomoci HDR. A mimochodom, skladba Under the bridge od RHCHP je moje veľmi obľúbená.A ktorá verzia sa vám vlastne viacej páči? Žltá/farebná alebo čiernobiela?
red 99 – break the battern [p52 | w32]
At Belarus National Library (which is THE thing to visit in Minsk according locals) is not so much to see actually. No books at all. No kidding. All of them are stored in the temperature controlled floors above the reception. They would be automatically delivered to you upon request. Very sophisticated and cool actually! Desired book can be looked up at the computer – or in the old fashion way in the card register! YES! With all the small cards with typewriter written description of each and every book! And the card registration system is of course massive! But due to the reason unknown to me – but to make my photography eye happy – drawer #99 was in red. No brainer to point – and shoot! Break the pattern like from the encyclopedia about Break the pattern! V bieloruskej národnej knižnici (ktorá mi podľa miestnych bola odporúčená ako miesto, ktoré MUSÍM navštíviť) toho až tak veľa na videnie nebolo. Žiadne knihy, fakt, nekecám. Všetky knihy sú uschované v poschodiach nad recepciou a každá kniha je na základe požiadavky jednotlivo a automatizovane dovezená. Musím uznať, že to bolo sofistikované a celkom cool! Požadovanú knihu si môžte vyhľadať v počítači – alebo staromódnou cestou v kartotéke! ÁNO! Všetky tie malé kartičky s popisom knihy a autorov naklepané na písacom stroji! No a samozrejme, v takej knižnici je kartotéka riadne masívna. Ale z mne neznámych dôvodov – ale moje fotografické oko to potešilo – šuflík č. 99 bol s červeným štítkom. Bez váhania som zamieril – a cvakol. Rozbitie nudy ako z encyklopédie o Rozbíjaní nudy!
5 min with old-timer in minsk – [rusty p52 | w31]
When arriving to Minsk, Belarus airport for departure I have noticed few old soviet style planes being displayed, close to the airport. Asked the taxi driver to stop and wait for me for 5 minutes. OK, it might be 7 minutes at the end, but this colorful beauty was worth to stop! And I have also been able to deliver on p52 theme “rusty”. Even though I am admitting, old-timer wasn’t rusty at all! It took an affort to find “rusty” part… Enjoy colorful splash! all pictures – Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-70mm Keď som prichádzal na bieloruské letisko v Minsku na svoj odlet, tak som si všimol niekoľko starých lietadiel sovietskej produkcie, boli odstavené neďaleko letiska. Poprosil som taxikára, nech mi na 5 minút zastaví. OK, nakoniec to možno bolo 7 minút ale táto farebná kráska stála za zastavenie! A zároveň som zvládol nafotiť do projektu 52 na tému “Hrdzavý”. Aj keď na rovinu priznávam, že staručký dovjplošník nebol vôbec hrdzavý! Dalo mi celkom námahy nájsť kúsok hrdzavého miestečka… Užite si farebné hrátky! 😉
Ride the lightning!
Saturday evening storm and amazing amount of lightnings… It was enough just to made a composition and set the shutter speed for 20-25 seconds. The rest was done within 10 shots… Nikon D800 with 24-70mm, f/13 at 25 sec Sobotná búrka s hromadou bleskov! Stačilo len namieriť do oblohy s primeranou kompozíciou a nastaviť uzávierku na 20 až 25 sekúnd. Zvyšok bol hotový v priebehu 10 záberov! 😉

This evening we had a great walk. Just pure summer, worry free, full of laughter and endless love! PS: My first shot for Project 52 with iPhone. Dnes večer sme mali nádhernú prechádzku. Takto proste chutí bezstarostné leto, s kopou smiechu a nekonečnej lásky!PS: A môj prvý záber do tohtoročného projektu nafotený s iPhonom.
about negative space
Few weeks ago we had in our Project52 theme called “Negative space” and I was surprised to find out, how many people had a trouble to visualize this idea. Many many times it was represented by something negative. Negative emotions, negative thoughts, negative places etc… But the idea of negative space has nothing to do with any negative thoughts! To help my fellow friends and photographers, I have decided to go through my library and put together images from my archive, which I believe represent powerful photography concept of negative space quite well and will help to get the idea by examples. When shooting negative space, don’t forget – it is not about negativity… it is more about the space! You want to find a vast spaces, mostly without anything or with a boring, uninterested pattern… and then somewhere in the picture (typically towards the corner and at the intersection of golden thirds) BOOM! there’s something unexpected, which will break the picture. This “unexpected” will bring the meaning, will give the scale, will explain the rest of the space… So it will be the contrary (hence negative, meaning opposite) to the rest of the available, but unused space…As always, picture is worth thousand words, so let me show you what I mean in following examples. Mnohí ľudia to vyjadrovali niečím negatívnym. Negatívnymi emóciami, negatívnymi myšlienkami, negatívnymi miestami atď… A pritom stvárnenie negatívneho priestoru nemá nič do činenia s negatívnymi myšlienkami! I love to look at the ordinary things with my macro lenses… One can find beauties! Would you guess what is it? No, it is not a fluffy furry toy of my kids. It is a close up of few months too old almonds… Well. There is a beauty in it, you have to admit! 😉 Nikon D800, Nikkor macro 105mm, f/36, 4sec, ISO 100. Fired with remote control and Mirror Lock Up has been on. Zbožňujem sa pozerať na obyčajné veci cez moj makro objektív, vtedy človek objaví nádhery! Skúsili by ste si tipnúť, čo to je? Nie, veru nie je to chlpatý plyšák mojich detí… Je to pohľad riadne zblízka na niekoľko mesiacov príliš staré mandle… Nuž. Ale musíte uznať, že v tom je kúsok nádhery! 😉

When mother Nature paints, we can just watch observe and get inspired… And I loved to observe this beauty few weeks ago, near Benešov (close to Prague), Czech republic… Canola seed fields in the background with an extra bright clover field in the foreground… Keď Príroda maľuje, tak my smrteľníci môžeme len z diaľky pozerať a nechať sa inšpirovať… A ja som si veru užil pozeranie na túto krásu pred pár týždňami neďaleko Benešova v Čechách. Polia repky olejnej v pozadí spolu s extra výraznou fialovou v popredí namaľovanou ďatelinovými kvetmi…
bicycle / looking down [p52 | w22]
Looking up is great. Looking down is also cool. Especially with a late afternoon light which is painting beautifully long shadows. Pozerať sa hore je skvelé. Ale pozerať sa smerom dole je tiež zábava. Ozbvlášť keď je k dispozícii neskoré popoludňajšie svetlo, ktoré vie namaľovať krásne dlhé tiene.
